www.GoodMornigGwinnett.com The city of Grayson filed a lawsuit Friday against the Gwinnett County tax commissioner, escalating a dispute about whether she is required to collect taxes on behalf of cities if they don’t pay her personally to do so.
The lawsuit, filed in Gwinnett County Superior Court, seeks to compel Tax Commissioner Tiffany Porter to collect taxes on behalf of the city with a population of about 5,000. The mayor said property taxes make up $505,535 of the city’s proposed $1.583 million budget — a third of the total.
