www.GoodMorningGwinnett.com The Fourth of July holiday starts the busiest and — in terms of boat traffic — one of the most dangerous parts of the season.

A representative from each agency touched on a different safety topic. Presenting agencies included Gwinnett police and fire, Hall County fire, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Forsyth County Sherrif’s Office, Georgia State Patrol and Army Corps of Engineers.

Donald Strother with Gwinnett County fire spoke first about the importance of learning CPR and administering it promptly. He said when someone is able to promptly administer CPR, it drastically improves the chances survival of someone in cardiac arrest. Statistically, if CPR was administered to someone suffering cardiac arrest within in the first two minutes, Strother said it doubles their chances of survival.
