www.GoodMorningGwinnett.com - News, Events, Music & Daily Horoscope Unterman has been considering a run for the 7th Congressional District seat since U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall announced in January that he would not run for another term in 2020.
The longtime senator would not be the only member of the Gwinnett legislative delegation to jump into the race. State Rep. Brenda Lopez Romero, D-Norcross, has already entered as a Democrat.
But Unterman's role as a Senate sponsor of Georgia's controversial "heartbeat bill" will make her a target for Democrats. Some of the Democrats who are running for the seat have already been critical of the General Assembly for passing the bill and of Gov. Brian Kemp for signing it into law.
