South Georgia Schools Get An Influx Of Threats

www.YouTube.com/@GoodMorningGeorgiaToday On Monday, several schools in South Georgia were placed on soft lockdowns, leaving parents concerned after a series of social media threats. These threats began following last week’s tragic mass shooting at Apalachee High School.

In a single day, eight South Georgia schools were targeted by hoaxes threatening either a school shooting or an active bomb threat. Local and state law enforcement stressed the seriousness of these hoaxes, vowing to hold those responsible accountable.

“This will not be tolerated. We’re not going to allow people to threaten schools, teachers, or students. We will hold them accountable,” said Marko Jones, assistant special agent in charge at the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

Crisp County deputies arrested two 12-year-old middle school students for making a bomb threat against their school, while other social media threats kept officials, including Decatur County school police, on high alert.
